This 3-day horseback tour follows one of the most loved routes to Song-Kol Lake. The journey starts in Kyzart Village, continues through the Chaar-Archa River valley and Kilemche pasture, then crosses a scenic mountain pass before reaching the open shores of Song-Kol.
The tour combines active riding with authentic nomadic culture. You will stay in traditional yurts, enjoy simple local meals and ride with experienced local horsemen who know the terrain, weather and horses.
The tour starts and ends in Kyzart Village. Private transfers from Bishkek, Kochkor, Naryn or Issyk-Kul can be arranged for an additional fee.
The route is suitable for confident beginners, but the second day includes a mountain pass and can feel more demanding. Large luggage can usually be left at the guesthouse in Kyzart; take only a small backpack with essentials for the riding route.

Itinerary by days
Horse riding to Kilemche
After a short riding instruction, begin a gentle ride from Kyzart through wide valleys and along the Chaar-Archa River. Stop for a picnic lunch, then continue to a family-run yurt camp in Kilemche. In the evening, enjoy dinner, fresh mountain air and the quiet life of the pasture.
Horse riding to Song-Kol Lake
After breakfast, ride toward Jalgyz-Karagai Pass at around 3300 m. The climb is more demanding, but the first view of Song-Kol Lake is the reward. Descend to the lake, have lunch at a yurt camp and continue riding along the shore to Tuz-Ashuu pasture.
Return to Kyzart Village
Say farewell to the nomadic family and ride back via the scenic Tuz-Ashuu Pass. Enjoy final panoramic views of Song-Kol before descending toward Kyzart Village. After arrival, have lunch and continue your onward journey or stay overnight in Kyzart.
